It was such an honor to interview the following people for The Hoop Book! They inspired me so much. By listening to their stories and journeys, I explored the healing art of hoop dance. A few years ago I started hooping because I liked it. After interviewing all of these people I discovered hooping on an entirely different level. It deepened my practice in so many ways. I’m so happy to share their stories with the world. Maybe you’ve enjoyed their stories too while reading the book and you want to find out more about them. You’re at the right place.
There are countless amazing hoopers out there. Everyone dances in their own unique way. Limiting myself to just twelve people for the interviews in the book was a near-impossible task, because I’d much rather celebrate everybody! That’s why the following hoopers also got a little spot in my book. If you want to see them dance, go to their Instagram account. And still, there are lots of other talented hoopers who belong in here.. I think I’ll have to make another book!

I love how his “going blind” technique using a blindfold really helps you get in tune with your movement and improves a soulful relation to your hoop.
I love her groundbreaking acts, full of symbolism, shatter the boundaries between dance, acrobatics, object manipulation, and storytelling.
I love that these playful creatures, who are husband and wife, mix flow arts and theater into their amazing performance art.
I love how he is exploring dynamic improvisation, blending athleticism into rhythmic dance and pushing the boundaries of head hooping.

I love her joyful, authentic style of dancing and her many tutorials and courses for the community.
